Feedback Friday~ Organizing Digital Photos
If you get my Freebie Friday newsletter, you most likely read Midge’s question about storing digital photos (if you don’t get my FREE newsletter be sure and subscribe via the sticky note in the upper right corner). Read below to find out what my suggestions are for organizing photos! Molly
Dear Midge,
I think many people can sympathize with your digital photo situation, I know I can! Your question raised a very good point, how can we organize and keep track of ALL those photos? I went in search of some advice for those of us who are drowning in years of unmanaged, seemingly endless photo files. This is what I found:
- This site offers advice to those of us who would call ourselves novices in the department of using software to organize photos. This site breaks it down in easy-to-understand bits of information so digital photo filing doesn’t remain overwhelming.
- If you’re a get-it-done kind of person and don’t care for too many details, this site offers some of the same advice but in less detail. Get all of the important info to get you started and on your way to complete organization!
Once things are organized and you’re ready to get your photos into books, there are MANY options for printing digital photo albums. This is a great time to take advantage of holiday specials some sites may be running, a little investigation goes a long way! Simply type “digital photo albums” into your favorite search engine (such as Google) and start your search for the best deal and layout options that fit your needs.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I won’t tell you how many Christmas photos I took and haven’t even downloaded into the computer yet!
Happy photo filing!
Love ya, Molly

If you use a site like Snapfish or Shutterfly, you can store and organize your photos and prepare your albums, then wait for a special to actually print them out. You can also create gifts like photo mugs or personalized calendars. We like to make a family calendar that has all my kids’ and their cousins’ pictures, each on the month of their birthday. For the grown-ups we just put their birthdays on the calendar squares with no pictures.
Molly says: What a great idea! I have plenty of photos from 2012 (and before!) that could use organizing/sorting.
